The 8HP is an eight speed automatic transmission built by ZF Friedrichshafen AG. It is a fairly heavy duty unit capable of handling over 500 lb-ft of torque. Remarkably, this transmission only weighs 200 lbs. The 8HP was first put into production in 2008 and remains in production today.  This transmission can be found in a large variety of makes and models, including the Bentley Continental GT, the BMW 1-Series all the way through the 7-Series, the Audi A8 and A7, the Dodge Durango and Charger, the Jaguar XJ, the Land Rover Discovery, the Dodge Ram pickup truck, the  Rolls Royce Ghost and many other applications.

Keep An Eye Open For This Possible 6T45 Transmission Issue

The 6T45 is a six speed automatic transmission made by General Motors. It is very similar to the 6T40, with the difference being that the 6T45 used more heavy duty components which allowed for its use behind motors with more horsepower.  Externally the transmissions look almost identical. This transmission was developed for vehicles that had their motors mounted in a transverse manner and is designed exclusively for front wheel drive applications. The 6T45 was first put into use in 2008 and remains in product today. It can be found in vehicles like the Chevy Equinox, the Buick Regal, the Saturn Aura and the Opel Astra.
