Modify Your AOD Transmission For Light Drag Racing

The AOD transmission is one of the very first four speed automatic overdrive transmissions ever made by Ford. It first went into production in 1980 and remained in use through the 1993 model year. The transmission was used in all Ford brands, including Mercury and Lincoln. It was used in many cars that were popular for use in light drag racing events. Many times these cars served dual duty; as an everyday driver and as a weekend warrior.  Some of the cars that the AOD could be found in include the Thunderbird, the Mustang, the Mercury Cougar, the LTD, the Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Mark VI.
