The Just-Right Company

Once upon a time, there was a company. They weren’t a giant corporation, but they weren’t a rinky-dink operation either.
This company was just right.
The just-right company spent thousands of hours researching, testing, and tweaking its products. They invested in technology to streamline processes and be a better customer resource.
And at this just-right company, they had great people – hardworking, passionate, and inventive. To be honest, it felt more like a family than a company.
Some of its customers were demanding, but the company took it all in stride because it really, truly cared about customer feedback. And other customers made them smile a little extra big when they called – and even more when they referred their friends.
Life was good for the just-right company.
But it knew it could be more…
So it started sharing. Successes. Lessons learned. Tips and tricks. Even the occasional missed opportunity. The big guys respected the just-right company and the little guys admired it. Even better, its customers felt the same.
And so it grew and grew. Getting bigger, and better, and smarter with each passing year as the king of the just-right companies.
The end
Sound familiar? It should. The company in the story is yours.
In business, it’s natural – even easy – to think about the sales numbers you’d like to hit, competitors you’d like to challenge, or a bigger organizational goal. The hard part is thinking beyond the day-to-day.
So I’m going to let you in on a little growth secret: passion sells.
Whether delivering an exceptional customer experience or building a product you’re proud of, passion should permeates everything.
And how do you show your passion? By creating meaningful, helpful, real content.
Content creation can seem daunting. And there are definitely a few pitfalls worth noting:

  • Creating content for content’s sake.
  • Creating content in which you have no experience or relevance.
  • Creating content that you wouldn’t read yourself.

But the rewards definitely outweigh the risk – and time.
The even better news? Great content is already all around you. Beyond the obvious reason you’re in business, hidden in your day-to-day, is your story.
What will you tell first?
