My grandmother would share this warning with me, my brother, and sister when we were about to get in trouble \u2013 and we wanted the good times to keep on rolling.<br \/>\nInevitably, she was right. We would get careless with whatever was so funny in the first place, be it rough housing or just plain old fighting between three siblings. Eventually, someone was crying and the laughing was over.<br \/>\nI didn\u2019t realize it then, but she was sharing some great advice: for every high, there is a low.<br \/>\nI\u2019d bet that you spend valuable time making sure business runs smoothly, fixing systems, relationships, lines of communication, etc that have broken along the way. And while this is important, how much time is spent celebrating what\u2019s going well?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are your sales up?<\/li>\n<li>Is customer service at its best?<\/li>\n<li>Are your employees happy?<\/li>\n<li>Having the longest stretch of zero injuries in the shop?<\/li>\n<li>Did a customer give you a great review on one of your social media channels?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whatever it is, take notice of it.<br \/>\nThis week, I challenge you based on my grandma\u2019s lesson. Find the negative \u2013 and ignore it for a minute. It might be staring you down and begging for attention, but look for the positive. Once you see what\u2019s good, protect it. If you\u2019re careless with recognizing and working to keep it, you just might lose it.
