{"id":3343,"date":"2016-10-27T13:26:49","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T18:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/etereman.com\/remanu\/?p=3343"},"modified":"2016-10-27T13:26:49","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T18:26:49","slug":"gone-fishing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etereman.com\/remanu\/2016\/10\/27\/gone-fishing\/","title":{"rendered":"Gone Fishing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3344\" src=\"http:\/\/etereman.com\/remanu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/AdobeStock_65610128-e1477586436623.jpeg\" alt=\"Gone Fishing\" width=\"600\" height=\"397\" \/><br \/>\nThe coolness in the air, the feel of dried leaves curled beneath your toes, and the fog of breath dancing on the tip of your nose as you exhale can only mean one thing: <strong>muskie fishing.<\/strong><br \/>\nSurprised?\u00a0 Me, too.<br \/>\nJust a few years ago, I probably would have answered with, <em>\u201cPumpkin Spice Lattes!\u201d \u00a0<\/em>But in 2010, what fall means to me all changed when I casted for my very first Muskie.\u00a0 Within 30 casts, I caught a fish that I\u2019m told takes over 10,000 casts to catch.\u00a0 It was thrilling!<br \/>\nThe story of my first Muskie is a good one, but I\u2019ll save that fisherman\u2019s tale for another time.<br \/>\nSince that first fish, I\u2019ve been out several very cold fall mornings, casting and casting and casting.\u00a0 All casting and no catching? You\u2019ve probably guessed it by now, but I\u2019m not great at catching these monsters.<br \/>\nWhat brings me back year after year isn\u2019t necessarily my love of being outside in the cold, but my love of the escape. Fishing takes me to a place where the stress of everyday life isn\u2019t so stressful.\u00a0 That deadline I nearly missed isn\u2019t top of mind, and my ever growing to do list melts away.\u00a0 What is top of mind is nothing \u2013 just the methodical motion of casting and reeling, talking and learning from my fellow anglers.<br \/>\nWhat\u2019s my point?<br \/>\nSomewhere on the water, I\u2019m able to have that moment of clarity. This is where my next big idea comes from.\u00a0 This is where I thought through this very article. It\u2019s where I have the time to solve some of the bigger problems.<br \/>\nCan your business survive without your next big idea or solution to some of your daily issues? Can you afford to be so stifled in your work that you can\u2019t see the forest through the trees?\u00a0 My best guess is no.<br \/>\nIt might not be on the water, but what\u2019s your escape?
