\nIt\u2019s nearly 2018, and at this point you\u2019ve no doubt heard of Tesla, the Elon Musk-led company that is disrupting the automotive industry. Self-driving technology, a sleek new design, and an overall greener product has helped Tesla get their foot in the door of an industry that has been historically extremely difficult to successfully break into.
\nIn a recent\u00a0interview<\/a>, Musk touched on the personal importance of building beautiful products. When discussing a unique feature of the newly unveiled Tesla Semi, Musk told his team, “Probably no one will buy it because of this. But if you’re going to make a product, make it beautiful. Even if it doesn’t affect sales, I want it to be beautiful.\u201d<\/em>
\nThe automotive aftermarket isn\u2019t necessarily reliant on the beauty of a product to earn sales\u2014transmissions are messy, grimy, and dirty, but they serve as key components to any vehicle, and vehicles are an essential part of life for getting from point A to B. That being said, if beauty isn\u2019t an essential component to selling a reman transmission, for example, why would a company continue to invest time and resources into building products beautifully? Why is it important to care about building a beautiful brand?
\nTrust.<\/strong>
\nWhen customers see your company logo, you want them to trust that they will be getting the BEST product, accompanied with the BEST customer service, and the BEST warranty. If the consumer trusts you, then both sides can build and enjoy a fruitful relationship for a long time.
\nHow can you add a bit more beauty to your business?<\/p>\n

  1. Develop your main logo and any alternate logos based on where you\u2019ll use them. For example, you may have a primary logo for business signage and a simpler version for your letterhead or email signatures. Do they pop? Do they stand out amongst other logos?<\/li>\n
  2. Use colors and textures that appeal to the senses. What will catch a customer\u2019s eyes the best?<\/li>\n
  3. Market yourself. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; how can you tell your company\u2019s story so that it enhances the products and\/or services you offer?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
