I was planning on working from home the following week leading up to my due date, but I spent all of Memorial Day last year in the throes of contractions knowing I might not make it to that digital meeting Tuesday morning&#8230; I didn&#8217;t. I hung out in the hospital instead.<br \/>\nYou know your life is going to change when you have a baby. I knew that. People tell you things. But it&#8217;s also one of those things you just have to experience for yourself, see how it changes you, your routines, your bank account, your work-life balance&#8230;<br \/>\nAll of the things have changed. But what&#8217;s really exciting for me to keep in mind is how my work has changed in the year since I had my bub. Things changed in my day to day, coworkers left, coworkers joined, teams rearranged, responsibilities shifted and there is quite literally no end in sight to that change.<br \/>\nIf you know exactly where you and your business will be in a year, do something unexpected. Or, I suppose, just wait for the unexpected to happen to you, soak it all in &#8211; the good and the bad &#8211; and show up every day ready for new and exciting changes and challenges.<br \/>\nThis is a short article. This is a long weekend. Next week is a short week &#8211; surprise yourself. Do something out of routine. Shake things up at home or life. And enjoy every moment. It goes fast.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4508\" src=\"http:\/\/etereman.com\/remanu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/RU412-e1558728902220.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nPS: I&#8217;ve been reflecting a lot lately, both about REMAN U &#8211;\u00a0 its reach and effectiveness &#8211; and my own soon-to-be yearling.\u00a0Slightly more than a year ago, I wrote my last REMAN U article before my baby-outage: <a href=\"http:\/\/etereman.com\/remanu\/my-last-reman-u-for-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Last REMAN U (For Now)<\/a>. In that article, I was reflective about why we do REMAN U and why you should, too, (but your version!). This entire month I&#8217;ve been taking the time to write something every day &#8211; even if just a sentence, to honestly capture how I&#8217;m feeling and what&#8217;s happening around me. Do your version. And look at it a year from now.
