More GR8 Things from ETE REMAN!

April 18, 2025 By Emily

We don’t launch new products just to say we did. When something new hits the line at ETE REMAN, it’s engineered to meet our Like New, Only Better standard. We’re proud to introduce our newest release: ETE’s 8-speed remanufactured transmissions. The GR8 Eights!

These aren’t just any 8-speeds. They’re ETE REMAN 8-speeds—remanufactured with precision, backed by rigorous testing, and assembled by a team that’s trained, tooled, dyno-tested, and all come with our exclusive 3-YEAR, UNLIMITED MILE WARRANTY.

Training Wheels Off
We kicked off the launch with a full-scale training initiative. Our engineering team worked side-by-side with production, updating work instructions and building practice units until we got it just right. From new hires to seasoned techs, everyone got hands-on to master the new process.

Torque the Talk
Every fastener on these units is now torqued using Atlas Copco DC tools, which precisely measure every fastening move. That means consistent clamping force, fewer failures, and better performance on the road.

Shift Happens—Smoothly
We tackled common 8-speed issues like line pressure runaway and shift flares by digging deep into the valve body and updating key components:

  • Replaced the Pressure Regulator Valve, Boost Valve, and Sleeve
  • Swapped out all signal accumulators to restore OE solenoid pulse control
  • Restored accumulator and pressure limit valve functions
  • Refurbished valve bores for 23468, 13567, and 12345R solenoids as needed

If it affects shift quality, we fixed it.

Solenoids: Tested. Then Tested Again.
Solenoids are put through their paces on our proprietary, temperature-controlled testing machine, verifying real-world function before anything ships. We also restored Actuator Feed Limit pressure control and verified solenoid pressure supply throughout the unit.

Proof Is in the Performance
Each unit is dyno tested using an automated shift program to simulate real-world driving. That includes upshifts, downshifts, and torque converter clutch control.

Bottom line? These 8-speeds represent five years of preparation, investment in people and tools, and a relentless drive to keep getting better. If you’ve been waiting for a new reason to trust ETE, here’s a GR8 one.
